Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the specialty where surgical procedures are performed in an operating room environment under local anesthesia, general anesthesia, or sedation, using both clinical and radiographic methods.

It is the unit where the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the mouth, teeth, and jaw region are carried out. Oral surgery covers a wide range of procedures, including tooth extraction, impacted tooth operations, dental implants, jaw fracture treatment, detection and treatment of jaw tumors, abscesses, and cysts, as well as the preparation of tissues before prosthetic and orthodontic treatments.
